After a lot of thought and hours of research as to what I wanted to do with the Ashes of Dad, Aunty Trish and Nan I came across Silver Dove Memorial Jewellery. I reached out to a few different companies hoping to get one blue and one brown earring made with my late dog’s ashes as he had heterochromia. I was expecting 2 flat colours but Sue at Silver Dove responded to my enquiry with an example of her work recreating a dog’s unique eye in a bracelet bead. Sue was really reassuring and professional, and I had full confidence that she’d do her best to recreate my Barley’s beautiful eyes and create earrings that I can cherish forever. I received them this morning and Sue has done a beautiful job! I’m so grateful for her dedication to making the earrings a fitting tribute to my lovely little guy. She included a laser engraved necklace of him too which I will proudly wear around my neck daily. The loss of a dog is just as complex as losing a human loved one; I lost my Mum 5 years ago and losing Barley suddenly & unexpectedly is on par with that pain. Not everybody gets that though. To some people dogs are ‘just pets’, but to me Barley was my baby. I was a Mama to four rescues and losing one of my crew has left a hole in my heart far bigger than he was. Sue has now given me a piece of him to keep with me as I continue to dedicate my life to my other 3. I had a necklace made by a large memorial jewellery company 5 years ago with my Mum’s remains inside, and although it’s a beautiful piece, the level of customer service, personalisation and thoughtfulness I received from Sue is above and beyond that large company. Sue let me know when she’d safely received Barley’s ashes, sent photos of the pieces she’d made and let me know when it was being shipped and the tracking information. It took Sue less than a week to receive, create and return Barley to me. I will absolutely return as a customer to Silver Dove, and will recommend Sue to anybody.
